the origins

It's documented that the Celts (600bc) have already cultivated vines in the Swiss Rhone Valley.

The vineyards of Valais account for a third of the total wine-production in Switzerland. They extend over a hundred kilometers along the Rhône river. Their well-exposed slopes stretch from the east village of Salquenen to Martigny.

the source

The source of the northern Rhone lies in Switzerland at the Rhone glacier.

The vineyards often deeply penetrate the lateral valleys; such is the case of Visperterminen at an altitude of 1100 meters, that ranks among the highest in Europe. The Northen Rhone is also the spiritual home of the Swiss Rhone Rangers.
